Welcome to all visitors and families who have returned to Grenfell for this memorable weekend. Following the celebrations at the school please enjoy the beautiful Open Gardens which are open over the weekend.
VISITORS:
Audrey Watt and Ian Pitt welcomed a visit from Ian's daughter Jen and his youngest granddaughter Rhiannon from Sydney who spent a few days in town catching up with dad and granddad. The group enjoyed a night out to dinner at Fettlers.
Former Grenfell residents Steve Crouch of Inverell (son of Jack and Joan of Bradley St) and Russell Holland of Bonny Hills (son of Daphne Holland and brother of Greg ‘Snakey’ dec’d) returned to Grenfell for the Class of 65 School reunion over the long weekend.
The boys enjoyed an extended stay and caught up with many during their stay.
WEDDING BELLS:
Congratulations to Alexandra (Alex), daughter of Jill Hamilton and David Hore and Karl Makin who were married on Saturday September 30 at 4pm on the hill overlooking Karl’s parents Steven and Karen’s property. Celebrant for the happy occasion was Anthony Myers.
Alex’s bridesmaids were Amanda Hollins and Rachel Butler, whilst groomsmen were Phillip Simpson and Peter Nicholson
All of Karl's grandparents were present; Max and Meg Makin and Don and June Faber.
Guest travelled from Melbourne, Rockhampton, Mackay and Hayden Makin and Lauren Neill flew home from New Zealand for the first time since April.
Flowers for the tables were done by Kate Robinson (with assistance from Liz) and David Hore’s sisters Jenny Laing from Cowra, who had had a week with the Weddin Mountain Muster and Felicity Carr from “Funny Hill” Binda created the beautiful bouquets.
Zelma Barker spent many, many hours making a fabulous chocolate mud cake. Jill’s siblings Tony and his wife Sue (Bondi), Sue (St George’s Basin) and Geoff and his wife Sue (Turramurra) were in attendance – hence three Sue Hamiltons.
A very relaxed evening under the stars with canapés and light food rather than a sit down meal was enjoyed by all.
