A big thank you to the community for helping us celebrate the 20th Birthday of the Grenfell Endemic Garden.
Despite the weather not being the best Noel Cartwright told us about the creation of the garden and then cut the beautifully decorated birthday cake (made by Chris’ Bakery).
The weather brightened a little and we were able to have a guided tour of the garden.
The garden will be coming into full bloom in the next few weeks so it will be well worth a visit.
Saturday morning, August 26, saw 17 members of the ACT branch of the Society for Growing Australian Plants visit the nursery.
They were impressed by the set up of the nursery and our range of native plants.
A tour of the Endemic garden and Noel Cartwright’s garden followed which allowed them to see our native plants in their natural state.
This was a great day enjoyed by all.
We will be celebrating National Threatened Species Day on Thursday September 7 with a viewing of Noel Cartwright’s documentary on the local flora and fauna commencing at 7pm at the Grenfell Hub in Main Street.
Supper will be provided. Everyone is welcome.
The Weddin Community Native Nursery is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 12 noon at 45 East Street.
