REPORTS:
Junior League Tag
Last Saturday, August 19 JLT Black played West Wyalong at home. The side that took the field was Linda Hucker, Teleitha O'Byrne, Charli O'Byrne, Megan Wilson, Alanna O'Loughlin, Emma McAway, Ashlee McAway, Taylor Keppie, Pheobe Heathcote, Emily Edwards and Izzy Heathcote. Alanna kicked off to start the game and the girls were straight into tagging and not allowing WW to make any metres as they knew they were up against a very fast opposition, however, WW went over to score the first points in the match followed by another try shortly after.
Good tagging was being done by Megan, Taylor and Charli. WW went over again which was then followed up with Linda scoring our first try of the game which Taylor converted bring the score to Grenfell 6 - WW 12.
A few mistakes started to creep into WW's game and with 3 minutes left on the clock our girls made the most of it with Megsie scoring and converting her own try.
Half time score 12 all. The second half was domineered by WW scoring multiple tries. Our girls put in a valiant effort but WW were just too strong. Final score was Grenfell 12 - WW 28.

Under 16s
On Saturday August 5 our boys travelled to Condobolin. The boys to take the field were Nathan Wilson, Aydan Eyles, Adam Hewen, Lachlan Stevens, Saxon Southwell, Kevin Silburn, Matthew Ryan, BJ Flick and playing up were Dylan King, Kyle Mawhinney, Angus Birch, Jackson Chapman and Joshua Smith.
Grenfell kicked off and our boys were straight into it with big hit ups by Nate and Matt while Aydan was having some good straight runs.
Saxon put pedal to the medal to chase down to an opposition player and put him into touch. Good passing down the line got the ball to Saxon who went over 5 minutes in to put first points on the board for Grenfell. Hard hitting by both sides lead to a few knock ons.
Handy passing by Saxon to Adam out wide saw Adam score in the corner which bought the score to Condo 0 - Grenfell 8.
A good intercept during the next set by Dylan stopped Condo going over.
Good hit ups were being seen by BJ and Kevin. With 10 minutes left on the clock for the first half Condo go over for two quick tries bringing the score to Condo 10 - Grenfell 8.
Condo kicked off to start the second half and again both sides came out firing. Aydan was having a blinder in both attack and defence.
Condo went over for a few quick tries but Grenfell's persistence paid off with Aydan scoring in the corner and Lachie converting bringing the score to 22-14.
Condo then went over again twice and with 10 minutes left on the clock our boys were doing their best to chase it down with Josh scoring in the corner and then Kev.
Unfortunately they ran out of time as the siren sounded with the final score being Condo 34 - Grenfell 22. Better luck this weekend boys.
