When the final round of the regular home and away fixtures concluded last Saturday, no club had found more success than Bulldogs.
Bathurst’s first grade side qualified for the finals in fourth spot, second and third grade ranked second and the colts were minor premiers.
The club’s women’s side won more games than any of its rivals, but were shuffled from first to second when the ladder was readjusted given the different amount of games teams had played.
All up Bulldogs won 62 of 76 games contested across the grades. That saw them top the club championship ladder on 252 points, with Orange Emus (225) second and Dubbo Kangaroos (232) third.
“It’s two in the last three for us now and I think we were second last year. It had been a fair while since we won it in 2015, but we’ve been consistent since then,” Bulldogs president John Maynard said.
“I really like this award because it is a reflection on the whole club, not just one grade. The points in the club championship are equally weighted across all grades, so everyone contributes equally.
“It is good to have all our sides in the finals. We were hoping to qualify a little bit higher in ones, but we’ve got the hard road now.
“But I’m absolutely delighted because it gives recognition to the whole club, all the coaches, the players but also all the officials and supporters of the club.”
