On Saturday July 29, the Panthers hosted Blayney in what Grenfell knew was going to be the toughest games of the season, with Blayney being on top of the table the Panthers needed this win to show that we were going to be major contenders come finals. The game started at fast pace and early on was controlled by Blayney who were using their big men to bump it straight up the middle in our 22m resulting in an impressive lead.

The Panthers then started organising themselves playing with a bit more structure allowing Alan Leibick to cross in the corner after a big push from the Grenfell forwards after a close line-out. This made the half time score 21-7 to Blayney.
After half time the Panthers regrouped and started playing some good rugby. Pushing Blayney of their scrums, winning line-outs and playing more organised football. The second half started with a try to Luke Sheehan which gave the Panthers the lift they needed as they continued to dominate, unfortunately the scoreboard didn't reflect the Panthers second half efforts with the full time score 26-12. Players Player and 3 points went to Stuart Taylor, 2 points went to Steve Berry and 1 point to John White.
This Saturday the Panthers travel to Cootamundra in what will be another though match, if you're looking for something to do on Saturday make the trip to Coota to support our men in black.
