I would like to use your paper to thank the Community of Grenfell for supporting me. I was selected to represent the NSWCHS Opens Cricket team to tour the UK.
I have just returned from this amazing experience. I had a reasonably successful touring, averaging 2 wickets per game. NSW CHS won 5 of our 10 matches. In between matches we got to experience a lot of the Uk with Wimbeldon, F1 practice, tours of Windsor Castle, changing of the guard at Buckingham and many more once in a lifetime experiences.
I conducted a few fundraising activities: Egg and Bacon Roll breakfast at School- thank you to Steve O’Byrne and Caltex Service Station and PFD Services for supplying the relevant items needed; Raffle – thank you to Trudie O’Byrne for donating the prize (Chefs Toolbox Pack); Battery Drive – Thank you to Howard Hughes for assisting and all the people who donated their old batteries.
I would like to thank Mr and Mrs Bill Mendham, Mr and Mrs Trevor Wood, Mr and Mrs Tim Wood for their generosity.
I would like to thank the Henry Lawson High School P&C Assoc and the Grenfell Cricket Club for their kind donations towards my trip.
A massive thank you to the Grenfell Community, my family and friends who have contributed to me being able to participate in this awesome experience.
Thank you
Hamish Starr
