The opposition surprised us in the first five minutes with two quick goals, however, thanks to Eddie Galea’s sharp reflexes as goalkeeper and Ben Walker’s firing defensive headers, we managed to slow down the pace of the attack and got one back, going into the half-time break, 3–1.
Michael Walker’s keen attacking skills allowed him to slot a second goal past the keeper into the back of the net towards the end of the game.
Sadly, the opposition had not let up, scoring two additional goals bringing the full time score to 5 – 2.
The Stingers are back to Parkes next week before a series of three home games.
Perhaps the home ground advantage will see us back to our winning ways.
