Club secretary Carole Baldwin applied for the Holden Home Ground Advantage funding and was thrilled when she received notification that her submission was successful.
The club held a BBQ presentation last Saturday July 22 at Taylor Park where Holden representatives Brad Savage and Todd Royle from Waugoola Motors Cowra attended to present the club with a cheque for $5000 as well as marquees, eskies and drink containers.
Brad and Todd displayed two new Holden vehicles with company flags to create a fantastic atmosphere for the official presentation. Weddin Shire Mayor Mark Liebich was in attendance for the special occasion along with club members and executives. The children enjoyed a BBQ lunch and were excited to be recipients of the Holden Home Ground Advantage and look forward to a fun season of junior cricket in 2017/18. Holden developed the Home Ground Advantage grants program to help clubs improve facilities, purchase equipment and even develop exceptional talent. The Grenfell Eels Junior Cricket Club are over the moon about being one of the recipients of this exclusive Holden funding and know that this gives the club a wonderful opportunity to provide members with the latest equipment and training programs.
The next Eels meeting will be held at the Bowling Club on August 21 at 7pm with registrations being taken for junior members throughout August beginning on Thursday August 10 from 4pm at Lawson Oval #2. New members will be made most welcome.
