Grenfell Girlannas news

The Grenfell Girlannas are on a record winning streak remaining undefeated after last Sunday’s clash with the Cargo Heelers that resulted in a 32-10 victory for the team.

The Girlannas were a little nervous heading onto the field for the start of the game which showed in the first half of the match. A number of unforced errors and penalties gave Cargo a narrow lead.

Casey Hewen, who played tremendously in the first half, broke the line on several occasions, a late try by Tarlia Cotter brought the score to 10 all at the half time whistle.

The Girlannas became dominant in the second half with a complete turn around scoring 22 points to Cargo’s nil and coming away with yet another win.

With strong attack and defence the Grenfell girls took full ownership of the match.

Maddison Knight had a stand out performance scoring two great tries as well as displaying excellent passing and footwork skills,  Maddison was also awarded Players player.

Try scorers for the day for the Girlannas were Maddison Knight (2), Caitlin Dixon, Tarlia Cotter, Zoe Gavin and Abbey Joyce. Well done girls a terrific effort.
