Well, it's been sometime now since your worthwhile scribe has managed to find the time to sit down and let all the local readers in on what has been happening at the Shed over the last two or three months.

However, before I go any further, I would like to inform our readers that, although we have gained a lot of new members in the past few months, we have, much to our sorrow, also lost a couple of stalwart supporters in Sue Pack and Geoff Pawson. Members attended Geoff's funeral in Grenfell wearing their Men's Shed shirts and also formed a guard of honour in his memory.
Sue Pack was honoured with a special memorial service held at the Grenfell Shed clubroom that was attended by dozens of Sue's family and lifelong friends from all over the country, as well as Shed members and other locals who wished to pay honour to her memory. Judging by the amount of people who packed in to the Shed that day it is obvious that she left a great and lasting legacy in her wake. Both Sue and Geoff will be greatly missed.
In other news, the Shed has been very busy with projects that are now nearing completion or have been completed. The project to build outside garden furniture for the Country Club has been finalised and the club seem very happy with our efforts. This bodes well for further projects of this nature. There have also been dozens of smaller projects completed including refurbishing antique and older furniture such as dressing tables, wardrobes, leadlight doors, stools and projects for the pre-school and other organisations.
Shed members recently had a visit from local Chiropractor Dr Chris Metcalfe. Chris was a goldmine of information regarding complaints that begin to plague men and women of a certain age and how they might get some relief of the ailments with common sense treatment and help from the medical profession. Members thanked Chris for a very entertaining and informative presentation.
Members of the Shed are also currently involved in the Arts OutWest "Songwriting for Wellbeing" project to be held here in Grenfell along with singer Abbey Smith (from Smith & Jones) and health professionals. This is a special project aimed at men's health and will also include students from the Henry Lawson High school. Anyone wishing to attend this unique event can do so by contacting artsoutwest@csu.edu.au
Also, last but not least, the Grenfell Men's Shed recently hosted a meeting of the Men's Shed South West Alliance group. This included over thirty delegates from sheds such as Temora, Cootamundra, Canowindra, Harden, Boorowa and Grenfell. The afternoon finished with a great BBQ held in the railway carriage club house.
