The team managed to come away with a phenomenal 6 tries to 1 win against the previously undefeated Young White team. A terrific effort girls.
Due to two of our key players being away, we were lucky to have some Young Green players join us to make the numbers. Thank you to those Young Green players who came over to help us out, it as much appreciated.
The girls played exceptionally well, showcasing some great speed, improved ball skills and strategic thinking, both in attack and defence.
The result was never in question and it was pleasing to see the girls keeping the pressure on until full time.
The next game was a 7 all draw with Young Green, the girls again played really well but suffered from a lack of reserves, forcing the team to run out of steam. However, they all played consistently until the full-time whistle blew.
As indicated by the score, the girls scored a number of tries, but as the game went on, tired legs and tired minds let Young back into the game, with an equalizing try by Young just on full time.
It was great to see the Viva team come away undefeated on the day. By all accounts this is a wonderful success for the Grenfell Viva girls Under 10s side. You should all be very proud of your performance and great sportsmanship.
Thank you to all the players for making the trip over to Wagga, and of course, to the parents for bringing them. Also a big thank you to our star coach as well as our team sponsors.
