A local family has been left extremely concerned after recently losing their hand raised pet eclectus Parrot. The bird was last seen around the Young Road, Holy Camp Road area, but could now be anywhere around town. He's only 8 months old and the family hold grave concerns for his welfare as his diet consists of mainly fruits including mangos, figs, bananas, melons, stone fruits, grapes, citrus fruits, pears, apples, pomegranate and papaya. The eclectus has an unusually long digestive tract and this is why it requires such a high fiber diet which includes an essential intake of a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, leafy greens such as endive and dandelion, as well as a variety of seeds, including spray millet, and a few nuts such as shelled almonds and shelled walnuts, these foods will be almost impossible for him to find in the wild. A reward of $200 is being offered if found, he is green with blue and red under his wings and a bright orange beak, see picture above. If found please contact 0437744112 immediately.
