It would appear that a number of dog owners are failing to comply with the law in regards to removing their pet dog’s faeces from public places. If you are the owner of a pet dog and enjoy taking him for a walk please be advised of the following details:
Under Section 20(1) of the Companion Animals Act 1998 it is an offence to -
“Not immediately remove dog faeces from public place”
This may incur an IMMEDIATE FINE OF $275.00
Be sure to remove your pet dog’s faeces to avoid a hefty fine and to ensure that fellow members of the public don’t end up in an unfortunate mess.
