Lachlan Valley Singles Championship:
This weekend saw the club host the Lachlan Valley Singles Championship.
Semi Finals saw S Galvin defeat B Bradtke and G Beath (Cowra) defeat T Fowler.
This saw G Beath and S Galvin play off for the title, after a tight hard fought opening to the game G Beath eventually broke clear winning the final 31-15.
Lachlan Valley Presidents Singles:
Success for Grenfell again with K Aston winning the Lachlan Valley presidents singles at Cowra over the weekend.
He will now contest the Zone Presidents Singles at Portland.
Minor Singles Final:
On Friday the final of the minor Singles was played which saw K Aston and J Grogan battling for the title.
J Grogan jumped out to an early lead however K Aston clawed his way back to eventually lock scores at 26-26, J Grogan proved too strong in the end winning the final 31-26.
Bits & Pieces:
The draws for the club Triples and Fours have been completed and are up on the board, please check the draws and commence games as soon as possible.
S Galvin, A Armstrong, B Bradtke, J Hunter, D Troy, R Hunter and M Pollock (Caragabal) have been selected to play in the Lachlan valley side to Central West on Sunday at Cowra.
The bowls jackpot had no winner again this week; it required -6 on end 2.
Next week’s jackpot has risen to $133.
Chook winners this week were K Brus, C Anderson, Q Murray, R Coleman and Barry Bradtke.
We had a large total of 26 social bowlers this week, which is great to see, for members of the public wishing to take part in or find out more about our fun, friendly social bowls competition, please contact the club on 02 6343 1656.
WOMEN’S BOWLS
A Reminder to everyone, our next monthly meeting will be held on June 7 at 2pm at the Bowling Club.
Grenfell ladies were defeated in the S.W.D. Open Fours by Young, led by Margaret Glasheen who went on to win the S.W.D. Fours.
Congratulations to the whole team who played super bowls.
We are off to Cootamundra Ex to compete in Triples on Tuesday, team being Joy Murray, Sue Gault and Pat Reid Skip. Pat Reid, Katheryn Betcher, Sue Gault, Joy Murray travelled to Forbes to play in A Medley - Pairs, Triples, Singles and Fours on Saturday last, we came fourth and had a wonderful day.
The ladies from Forbes looked after us extremely well, and we had a challenging whole day of bowls that was enjoyed immensely by everyone.
