The men who are playing in the competition and are farmers, did not mind missing the tennis as the soaking rain was badly needed to allow the sowing of the 2017 crops.
At the conclusion of playing Round 11, Charles Harvey is leading narrowly by 3 games from Grahame Edwards in the “A” Division, while Andrew Bucknell will have no problem taking out the “B” Division.
The final round will now be played hopefully next Tuesday night, May 2. With the A Division being so close, this night should be very interesting.
When the Summer/Autumn Tennis Competition is finalised, the men will go into recess for about four weeks to allow farmers to sow their crops. It maybe sometime early June before their Winter Night Tennis Competition will commence.
