This year marks the very special occasion of the 100th anniversary since ninety brave men from Bimbi joined the war effort to fight and defend the British Empire in The Great War of 1914-1918 in the battlefields of France. To mark this special anniversary Bimbi’s Bruce Robinson along with Margaret Nowlan-Jones have compiled a brilliant publication titled ‘Bimbi and District Anzacs’ which is a wonderful tribute to those who tragically lost their lives on the battlefields so far away.
The publication will be officially launched on Anzac Day in Bimbi by Member for Riverina Michael McCormack MP who is honoured to be involved in the ceremony and describes the book as “A treasured gift that will be cherished by the descendants of the soldiers of the Bimbi community”. The event will begin with a BBQ followed by an Anzac Service at the Bimbi monument at 1pm with Mr McCormack due to officially launch the book at 2pm. All are welcome and invited to attend.
