Last Sunday the Goannas kicked off their season with a 50–26 win over the Eugowra Golden Eagles. The first half saw Eugowra dominate going to the break with a 26–6 lead. After some positive talk we saw a different Goannas outfit in the second stanza.

A big charge from Phil Rolls resulted in Brendan Hewen scoring in the opening set, taking the score to 26-12. Sam Ingram then found himself crossing the line Goannas now trailing 28-18. With the Goannas controlling the speed of the game Sebastian Holz scored a double which took the scoreline to 28 – 26 Goannas now leading. Eugowra were penalised at the restart giving the Goannas great field position that saw Stephen Ingram slip a pass to Steve Taylor for a try taking the score to 34-26. Tries kept coming with Josh Bateman, Shannon Lee and Bobby Ryan all putting points on the board. Players player went to Sebastian Holz. On Sunday Goannas travel to Manildra, League Tag is at 12.40pm with 1st grade at 2pm.
