"These awards are a way of saying 'thank you' to local seniors for their community spirit, their commitment and for setting a fine example for future generations of volunteers," Katrina said. The following constituents are 2017 Senior Local Achievers within the Cootamundra Electorate.
* Mrs Jenny Hetherington of Grenfell for her volunteer work with the Sesquicentenary Committee;
* Mrs Barbara Guthrie of Junee for her volunteer work at the Junee Community Centre, specifically Meals on Wheels, and the Senior Citizens;
* Mr Chris Howard of Junee for his volunteer work at the Junee Community Centre;
* Ms Carole Clark of Young for her volunteer work with organisations in Young, including Young Amateur Swim Club; and
* Mr Phil Braddon of Cowra for his volunteer work with the Cowra Saint Vincent de Paul Society, specifically support for the sick and elderly over 32 years.
"These nominees have made tireless contributions, often over a number of decades, to their communities," Katrina said.
