Verse and Short Story: The Verse and Short Story competition is a highly regarded literary element of the Festival. There are multiple classes for various ages and abilities in both verse and short story. Judging is by impartial, highly regarded authors and performers. The annual Short Story and Verse Competition closes at the end of March each year. Presentations will be made at the Saturday Awards ceremony. Quilting: The Quilting Display is held in Main Street Grenfell on Saturday and Sunday of the festival. The display is by local quilters with a gold coin entry fee. There will be experts on hand to answer your quilting questions and to inspire you for your next one. The display will be open from 10am to 4pm. Coordinator: Wanda Taylor 02 6347 5254
Photography: The Photographic competition has always been held in high standing. Photography is one of the four statuette categories. The overall Photographic winner will receive the Festival’s statuette by Michael Mandelc. This competition is a platform for photographers to share their skills and gain public recognition, while the exhibition is a source of appreciation and enjoyment for visitors and locals alike. Porcelain: The Porcelain Competition is held in the Community Hub in conjunction with the Art Competition. The Porcelain Competition is a small but high highly competitive section with many entries received from throughout the region. If you are not an artist but enjoy looking at the pieces, a stunning display of porcelain is on show to the public from Thursday evening until Monday. The winners of the competition are announced at the Thursday evening Art Opening in the Community Hub. Coordinator: Chris Lobb 02 6343 1313.
