WELCOME TO THE WORLD: Memphis Rosetta D'Ombrain was born February 21 2107 at the Cowra District Hospital at 8.30am weighing in at 8lb 3oz and 51cm long. Her proud parents are Belinda Leibick and Michael D'Ombrain, with delighted grandparents Alan Leibick and Dianne Leibick from Grenfell and Lester and Teresa D'Ombrain of Forbes. Memphis has two older siblings a brother, Braeden Leibick and a sister, Octavia D'Ombrain and they are both very much in love with their newest little sister.

VISITING FROM THE CENTRAL COAST: Joan Pipe was thrilled to have her daughter Lynette Avellis and her husband Tony and their daughter Adriana home from the Central Coast for three days. The family together with Joan’s partner Peter Wynne enjoyed a night out to dinner at the Railway Hotel. Adriana, who is relocating to Melbourne, where she will be at University furthering her studies, doing ‘creative writing’ has already done illustrations for two children’s books.
18TH BIRTHDAY: Lleiton Purdie who turned 18 on February 28, celebrated with his family and friends on Friday evening March 3 at Fettlers Restaurant.
SURPRIZE: Former Grenfellite Leonie Wood (nee Roe) accompanied by her husband Michael enjoyed a special 50th birthday surprise dinner at the Happy Inn Chinese Restaurant on Saturday evening March 11. Others to join in the celebrations were Chris Cavanagh, Ann Murphy, Carmel Edgerton, David and Kathy Wood, Barry and Donna Peace and Coral and Rod Tilling. Michael and Leonie lived in Cootamundra for many years and recently relocated to the South Coast. Before moving to the coast, Leonie graduated with a Diploma of Nursing and a Certificate 3 Aged Care. Michael is in the Police Force.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Kristine Ellis celebrated her 68th birthday with friends at the Happy Inn Chinese Restaurant on Saturday March 11. Helping Kristine celebrate were Georgi Eedy, Jenny Underwood, Roy and Wendy Adams, Josh, Luke, Deb and David Freebody and Jimmy and Dianne Liggett.
FOOTY FEVER: Sammie daughter of Trevor and Linda Wood of Grenfell and Gabrielle, daughter of Felicity and Chris Suckling of Wagga were both selected in the Canberra Raider’s Women’s Rugby League team to play against the Cronulla Sharks last weekend. Gabrielle is the granddaughter of Jack and Meg Grant of Grenfell. Both girls played well in their debut game played in Canberra, but their team went down 28-10.
Sammie said she was overwhelmed by the support and love she had received. To say she was excited is an understatement!! Sammie said, “The atmosphere was amazing and to say this is just the start of Women's NRL is so exciting and beyond belief! I can't wait to get back out there with my girls to play St George”.
ST PATRICK’S DAY: The Police and Friends Blue Liners St Patrick’s Day themed bike ride will be in town on Saturday and will enjoy breakfast served by the Lions Club at the Historic Railway Station on Sunday morning.
