Mr Schumann attended THLHS last Friday afternoon and spoke to the students about his experiences regarding the Vietnam War and how he came about writing his mega hit song “I was only 19”. Later in the evening John performed with friends Ian Politis and Rohan Powell at the Country Club where a large crowd enjoyed hearing many of his famous hit songs.
On Saturday, March 11, John hosted a songwriting workshop at the Grenfell Community Hub which was also well attended by locals and visitors alike. “I was really looking forward to performing in Grenfell, the birth place of Henry Lawson”, said John. John had success with his first album by John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew titled “Lawson”, a tribute to the great poet.
