In the Downing Centre Local Court on Friday, magistrate Graeme Curran placed the ARIA Hall of Fame member on a good behaviour bond noting the "stress the accused was under on this particular occasion".

In court, Geyer more than once turned to reporters sitting behind her and smiled, waved and said, "Hello" and "Are you the press?"

Her lawyer tendered a handwritten note she had written to the receptionist, who she left in tears and too scared to work at the same place.

Geyer, 63, pleaded guilty last year to one count of intimidating with intent to cause fear after verbally abusing the receptionist on two separate occasions in September 2015.

According to an agreed statement of police facts, the singer starting shouting and swearing at the receptionist at the Adina Hotel in Haymarket when she was told she needed to provide vehicle registration to access the car park.

Police were called to escort Geyer from the foyer, but early the next morning she returned to the hotel.

The singer called the receptionist a "f---ing bitch" and a "Tongan bitch" and pushed a stationery holder and eftpos machine onto the floor.

Geyer also, according to the facts, told the woman "I know who you are, I'm going to come back and get you" and told her "calling the police was a joke, they're not going to charge me".

Police arrived and found the worker distressed and in tears, and she has since been transferred to another hotel because she was so frightened of Geyer.

Magistrate Curran noted that there were "background issues" that explained Geyer's "atypical behaviour" and she was discharged without conviction.

As she left court, Geyer was ushered into a waiting car by supporters and told media she was not allowed to make a comment.
