The Lawson’s Legacy writing group asked John to come to Grenfell so he will also be running a song writing workshop on the 11 March as well as visiting The Henry Lawson High School.
In 2005, John released an album of songs based on the poems of Henry Lawson, and since then, it has been a burning ambition of John’s to play in Grenfell - the birthplace of Henry Lawson.
John Schumann holds a distinguished place in the Australian music industry. Best known for his leadership of the legendary folk-rock band, Redgum, and his Vietnam veterans’ anthem, I Was Only 19, John Schumann first came to national attention in 1980 as Redgum’s lead singer-songwriter.
He has received almost every award the industry has to offer – some twice over.
