Mrs Grant went on to say “The Grenfell Pre-School and Long Day Care centre is a is a community based centre and is rather unique as we are not just a long day care centre but also a pre-school as well as a mobile service, our centre is licensed for 70 children a day and we operate three playrooms.”
The mobile service known as the Weddin Mobile Pre-School attends Quandialla and Caragabal, it is licenced for 25 children. The service operates using a volunteer management committee consisting of people from the community who are passionate about education and the care of children. The centre meets the National Quality Standards requirements and is lucky to have very dedicated staff that are committed to their job ensuring all children have the best start in life. Grenfell Public School and St Joseph’s Primary School work well with the Pre-School to offer a smooth transition to ‘big’ school.
The Children from the centre had a great time at the graduation ceremony performing and singing songs to their families and friends.
President of the Pre-School, Zanette Wood, addressed the crowd and thanked the outgoing committee, she then presented them with a gift in acknowledgement of their services. The raffle was then drawn with the following results: First place was Heather Windred who won a trip to Manuka Park Apartments in Canberra, donated by Joel Smith.
Sai and Archana from ENHANCE Grenfell donated two gift vouchers of $50 that was won by Kim Berry. A rug and wall hanger was won by Lindsay Swadling. The centre would like to wish the community a wonderful Christmas and look forward to another successful year in 2017.
