I cannot stress enough to the members of this community how fortunate we all are to have such a professional and dedicated team who take care of the needs, not only for us, but also for our aging family members.
Even while short staffed the Grenfell M.P.S staff still went beyond their professional capacity in the care they gave to my mother, Phyllis Gannon, who passed away on September 22, 2016.
Mum was fortunate enough to be placed at Grenfell M.P.S after coming from another nursing home.
Over the 3 years I know she felt like it was home because of the love and care she received from the staff.
Mum could never remember the names of the staff but I always knew who she was talking about by the nick names she gave them (sunshine, handsome, noisy’s wife, the coffee shop nurse, my nurse, the nurse that always cleans my glasses, the fellow that makes my tea just right, the quiet nurse and smiley were just a few).
I would like to say from the bottom of my heart a huge thank you for the care and love you gave to my mother over the last 3 years and in the time of her passing I thank you also for the many cups of coffee you made me, the kind words and comforting hugs.
In difficult times it’s the little things that mean so much. Keep up the great work.
Yours Sincerely

Dear Editor,
I enjoyed your Editorial in last Wednesday’s Grenfell Record re: Grenfell’s 150 year celebrations, and my only disappointment was that I didn’t get to see everything.
However I noticed that you inadvertently missed mentioning that the Sunday festivities began at 9am with a Combined Churches Service in Taylor Park. This was a truly wonderful time of worship, praise and singing and was arranged by the six Christian churches in Grenfell.
A large crowd attended even through it was the first day of daylight saving and we all had to get up an hour earlier, and some even earlier to get the chairs set up and all the other things needed.
God gave us the best sunny day we have has in months.
Joalie Knight welcomed everyone to the service.
The combined band provided music and Erica Moore let the singing with her lovely voice. Pastor Rob Newton prayed for our needs and the town etc, and the readings were delivered by Rev. William Morrow and Roy Nash.
Rev. Ross Craven preached the message.
The service closed with everyone singing that great song – The Great Southland (Of The Holy Spirit).
Several people said to me later that we should do this more often, and come together to worship as one and thank God for the wonderful country and life that we have here.
Following the service morning tea was provided at a small cost by the Red Cross and CWA women.
So I would like to say a big thanks you to all the people involved one way or another for making it such a great start to a great day.
Thank you all and the best with your new look newspaper. I enjoy the stories of people and places.
Yours Sincerely
Joan Smith

To the Editor,
I must tell you about my recent driving experience.
I was driving in a town called Roudey Hill and they have rear end parking in their main street.
When I was reversing I backed into a taxi, the driver was not impressed, he jumped out and started to ask how I managed that? After apologising he said “where are you from?” and I replied Grenfell, he said he had never heard of Grenfell, it must be a long way away…
He said what should we do about the damage to my taxi?
I replied “You will have to wait in line as I have already taken out three verandah posts so far” – lucky he saw my humour.
