This weekend includes a prize of the prestigious “Hinemoa Frog” trophy for best performance by a less experienced driver.
A 3 Phase Event includes:
Dressage Test; similar to ridden dressage, with specific movements performed in an arena.
Cones Course; designed to test the fitness, obedience and suppleness of the horse or pony. Marathon; driven over 6 km’s distance with 4 Obstacles to be negotiated along the way.
This is a great event for people starting out and for those with inexperienced horses or ponies. Horse and ponies of all shapes and sizes, from big draft horses to little miniatures can compete at these events, including mules and donkeys!
It is a great family sport, with both old and young enjoying the fun and can be a new lease of life for a horse or pony, or a new opportunity for those who have trouble riding.
If you would like to know more about Carriage Driving or wish to see some driver’s in action feel free to come along this weekend to “Hinemoa” 1840 Gooloogong Rd Grenfell. (19km’s along the Goologong Rd from Grenfell, just after Stumpys Lane).
