The local Government elections will take place on Saturday September 10 from 8am – 6pm. 14 candidates have nominated for Weddin Shire as follows: Phillip Diprose, Maurice Simpson, Paul Best, Mark Liebich, Stephen O’Byrne, Craig Bembrick, John Niven, Nevin Hughes, Noelene Brandt, Jan Parlett, Carly Brown, Alan Griffiths, Pauline Tregenza and Stuart McKellar.

There are 4 polling places in Weddin Shire - Caragabal Public School, Greenethorpe Soldiers Memorial Hall, Grenfell Uniting Church Hall and Quandialla School. On election day electors can only vote at the polling place for their council area. (with the exception of Sydney Town Hall). Apart from Sydney Town Hall there is NO absent voting.
Pre-poll voting can take place at the Weddin Shire Council Office on Monday August 29 – Friday September 2, 8.30am - 5pm. Monday September 5 – Thursday September 8, 8.30am – 5pm, Friday September 9, 8.30am – 5.30pm.
Polling officials can assist electors with a disability. All polling places have maxi pens, handheld magnifiers and voting facilities for people who require assistance. Information is also available at: www.votensw.info
