Racheal decided to support the charity after her own recent experiences with cancer and how the journey can affect families and individuals dealing with the illness.

Racheal proceeded to present a local, interactive exhibition titled ‘1 in 3’. 

The exhibition consisted of 1, 585 chatterboxes of which 1 in 3 are red. This is a visual representation of the statistic that one in every three women will be diagnosed with cancer within their lifetime, the total number is a scaled down version of the population of women in Australia.

This artwork explores the difficulties of being the 1 in 3, by using a children’s toy with a name ironic to the intentions of the artwork, creating awareness to the lack of conversation experienced by those effected.

“By having myself as a part of the artwork, being mute, I intend to extend these ideas and make them more confronting and uncomfortable for the audience to experience mirroring the confrontation of being the 1 in 3”. said Racheal.

Due to the high level of interest Racheal is currently organising to have the exhibition feature at the Grenfell Community Health Centre.

Racheal will also be drawing her mega raffle winners tomorrow evening, Saturday July 30, at 8pm at the Grenfell Bowling Club, tickets will be available for purchase beforehand at the club, with all proceeds going to the Leukemia Foundation.
