OBERON’S stunning start to the 2016 Group 10 season is threatening to implode following a dispute between coach Zac Rowlandson and gun five-eighth Matt Rose.

Tensions flared during the club’s 26-all draw with Mudgee a fortnight ago, with the pair’s difference of opinion regarding the Tigers’ game plan, particularly in attack, the catalyst for the mid-season dispute.
The rift comes after the Tigers sensationally kicked off the season with seven wins in a row to lead the competition.
The black and golds now sit fourth, having won just two of their last six games.
Tigers president Ian Christie-Johnson said the club was working towards a quick resolution, one designed to get the Oberon club back on track ahead of the semi-finals.
Matt Rose didn’t play in Saturday’s game against Orange Hawks, neither did former NRL prop and brother George, but his absence was the result of a quad injury rather than any form of feud.
Trent Rose captained the side during the Tigers’ 34-10 win over the two blues, Christie-Johnson adding the youngest of the Rose brothers was also working to help with mediation.
“It’s a bit disappointing … I don’t know (if it’ll be worked out),” Christie-Johnson said.
“Matt has a couple of issues with the way the team is headed; a few selections and that sort of thing, and Zac’s confident his game plan is the best way forward.
“They’re both professionals. They’re both still Tigers and everyone will be considered for selection next week.
“We’re working towards a resolution. I’ve spoken to Zac and he knows he has our backing and the backing of the players and Trent is working as a mediator as well.
“We want everyone working towards the betterment of the club and the team on field, not any individuals.”
Christie-Johnson said Matt Rose wasn't part of Saturday’s win over the battling Hawks mainly due to his commitment as part of Solomon Haumono’s team in Christchurch for his heavyweight bout with Joseph Parker last Friday. Time restraints meant it wasn’t possible to be back in Oberon.
The club travels to Blayney this weekend in a huge match for both premier league teams, with the Tigers needing a win to keep touch with the Group 10 top three and the Bears looking to keep their finals hopes alive.
“We really need everyone on deck, fit and healthy so we can make a run at the finals,” Christie-Johnson added, praising Trent Rose who skippered the team against Hawks.
“Trent did (play) and he had another of his stand-out games. He’s been great, as have all the new boys.
“We just need to get everyone back on the same page.”
