Grace originally entered the Grenfell PAH & I Showgirl competition in 2015 with a vision to get the most out of what the competition offered. Once winning the Grenfell Showgirl title, Grace was excited to experience a professional development weekend in Dubbo as part of her prize, as well as progressing to the Zone final.
The Zone final consisted of a formal interview, a luncheon and an on stage interview. Of 23 other Showgirls representing their show societies in Zone 6, Grace was one of three Showgirls to progress through to Sydney. Of 550 entrants across NSW, Grace was one of fourteen state finalists.
Upon arriving in Sydney, along with thirteen fellow NSW finalists, Grace undertook an extensive itinerary including the official Royal Agricultural Society opening ceremony of the 2016 Sydney Royal Easter Show, meeting competition judges, a professional development seminar, Agricultural Societies Council Showgirl dinner, breakfast with RAS Foundation, a visit to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and a visit to the Royal Far West facilities in Manly among various other VIP functions.
Grace was joined by family and friends along with Weddin Shire Mayor, Mark Liebich, Councillors and senior staff members for her ‘Civic Reception’ last Thursday, July 21 where she was presented with a framed certificate and a gift from Council.
