The third round of the Intertown Competition will be this Sunday, July 24, when all towns converge on Forbes complex to do battle. With a first round forfeit, and a second round wash out, we are hoping to get on the court in what will be assured as a good day’s tennis. Selectors are asking for selected players to make themselves available. The team selected are:

JUNIOR TENNIS: Junior Tennis has suffered over the last month due to the wet weather. Play will commence again today at 4.30pm to approx. 6.30 - 7pm. Any juniors or parents, are welcome to contact Danny on 63432081 or 0428 436266 for further details.
JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT SERIES APPROACHES: The Grenfell round of the Medibank JDS Round Robin Tennis Tournament is scheduled to be played at the Grenfell Tennis Centre on Sunday July 31. Entries have been rolling in for this Tournament, local juniors interested in playing are asked to contact Danny on 63432081 or 0428 436266. TUESDAY MEN’S COMPETITION: The rain held off on Tuesday night, allowing the men to play Round 3 of their Winter Night Comp. The top players for the round were Danny Joyce and Mark Liebick, winning a total of 27 games. They won all their sets 4/4, 5/3, 7/1, 6/2, 5/3. Mark was a fill-in for Jim Griffiths. The next best players were Michael Mitton and John Walmsley, won 24 games, which was a fine effort. Their sets were 5/3, 5/3, 5/3, 2/6, 7/1. Charles Harvey and Hugh Moffitt were next best winning a total of 21 games. Sets were 4/4, 3/5, 4/4, 5/3, 5/3, very close and competitive tennis for the men. Grahame Edwards and Rod Freudenstein, battled away in their sets, to win 19 games for the round. Sets were 5/3, 3/5, 4/4, 6/2, 1/7 and Danny Edwards and Pat Hazell won 16 games. Their sets were 3/5, 4/4, 3/5, 3/5, 3/5. The other pair taking part, Arnold Brown and Hamish Starr won 13 games. Hamish was a fill-in for Rick Power. The men will now play Round 4 next Tuesday night, weather permitting.
