A slow amble up Melyra Street, down the Stock Route to Adelargo Road, then onto Derribong Road and finally along Quandong Road and then home, it was an easy, scenic route and took about two hours in total.
With various pauses along the way to appreciate the scenery, it was a thoroughly enjoyable walk for all participants.
The Weddin Wanderers group was originally formed by locals involved in the health industry as a means of encouraging more people to get a bit of light exercise and to experience first hand the beauty of the natural heritage in the Weddin Shire.
There is zero formal membership or structure and participation in events is open to anyone who is able-bodied.
Walks are quite literally paced to be a wander with spontaneous stops to 'enjoy the serenity' and company on the day.
Each is organised by volunteers and a host leads the walk, sharing local knowledge.
If you would like to become involved, visit the Weddin Wanderers Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/weddinwanderers/ and make your inquiry, new wanderers are always most welcome.
