The Bowling Club Auditorium was beautifully decorated in burgundy tones with a rustic theme of hessian, timber and gum leaves. After a two course meal provided to 254 guests by the Bowling Club catering staff the formal part of the evening began.

M.C. for the night Jill Griffin began by introducing the official guests.
Receiving the Debutantes was Father Bill Pryce a retired Anglican Priest (who would have believed he was retired) from Cootamundra. Father Bill had been a very busy locum priest, since he was appointed to the Anglican Parish in Grenfell for two months that lasted eighteen months. Sadly his relieving position in Grenfell concluded the following Sunday. Father Bill was accompanied by his wife Dorothy.
Other members of the official party were Stephen Griffin and Joan Eppelstun of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Parish Council, Terry and Deidre Carroll representing St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church and representing The Weddin Shire Council Mayor Mark Liebich and wife Bronwyn.
Before the formal presentation the debutantes and their partners entertained the guests with an informal dance to the music “Shut up and dance with me” by Walk the Moon.
The formal part of the evening then began. The beautiful flower girls Marly Loader daughter of Mark and Sarah Loader and Ella Mitton daughter of Peter and Nicola Mitton. The very handsome pageboys Ray McCann son of Matthew and Keryl McCann and Lachlan Ingrey, son of James and Tamara Ingrey where the first to enter the Auditorium.
The girl’s looked lovely in their dresses made from cream duchess satin with an organza overlay and featured a burgundy sash at the waist. The boys looked dashing in their formal suits and burgundy ties.
Following the flower girls and pageboys was Matron of Honour Jan Myers. Jan wore a blue/grey floor length chiffon gown, featuring a lace bodice and matching lace jacket
The debutantes and their partners were then presented. After Father Bill opened the ball Francesca Fenton and Casey Hewen cut the cake on behalf of the debutantes.
The cake was made by Mrs. Enid Johnson and decorated by Mrs. Judy Mitton. The cake was beautifully decorated with burgundy toned flowers and trims, the same as the debutante’s bouquets. Francesca and Casey with the help of Tara Anderson then came forward to say a few words of thanks on behalf of the debutantes. Debutantes and their partners then performed their formal dance, the Evening Three Step to the song “Up Town Girl “by Billy Joel. The ball continued into the early hours of the morning to the music of the band “The Young Ones”.
The Anglican Church Ball Committee would like to thank the following people: The Grenfell Bowling Club for the venue and meal; Neil and Chris Eppelstun for training the Debs and their partners; Jan Myers our Matron of Honour; Joan Eppelstun, Nicola Mitton and Lorette Walmsley for all their hard work; Stephen and Jill Griffin for printing and selling the tickets; Enid Johnson and Judy Mitton for making and decorating the cake; AWA members; Brett Tina and Tara Anderson for the wood table decorations and mums of the Debs and partners who helped decorate the auditorium. Without your help the ball would not have been the success that it was.
FLOWER GIRLS
The beautiful Flower Girls for the evening were Marley Loader, daughter of Mark and Sarah Loader, and Ella Mitton, daughter of Peter and Nicola Mitton.
The very smart Pageboys were Ray McCann, son of Matthew & Keryl McCann - Ray is partnering Marley, and Lachlan Ingrey, son of James & Tamara Ingrey is accompanying Ella.

MATRON ON HONOUR
Jan Myers was Matron of Honour for the ball. Jan is married to Anthony and they live on their farm ‘Passchendale” on the Henry Lawson Way, where they raised their two, now adult children, Claire and Sam. Jan is not only a mother and wife, she is a busy business lady who also owns and runs her own ladies wear business, Louisa’s Locker, in Main Street.
Jan is wearing a blue/grey floor length chiffon gown, featuring a lace bodice and matching lace jacket.
Shannon Best
Shannon is the youngest daughter of Michael & Loyola Best. She is partnered tonight by Jack Hooper, only son of Andrew Hooper and Kate Johnson.
Shannon is currently a Year 11 student at Henry Lawson High School and Jack is in Year 10.
Shannon’s beautiful gown features a diamante beaded bodice with a sweetheart neckline and keyhole back. The chiffon skirt falls in soft folds from under the bust line.
Shannon enjoys playing soccer and she listens to and plays music every day. Shannon would like to pursue a career in the health sector.
Jack would like to travel when he finishes his schooling.
Georgie Hargrave
Georgie is the daughter of Christine Stein and Philip Hargrave and tonight she is partnered by Jai Doolan, son of Charmaine Doolan and Craig Murray.
Georgie and Jai are both in Year 11 at The Henry Lawson High School.
Georgie is wearing an elegant chiffon floor length gown, featuring ruching on the bodice, and a stunning cross-over back. The skirts outer layer, has a centre open split, cascading over layers of chiffon. Satin ribbon edging highlights the waistline and plunging back line.
Georgie enjoys horse riding and would like to become a Registered Nurse when she finishes school.
Jai enjoys football and would dearly love to pursue a career with the NRL.
Francesca Fenton
Francesca is the daughter of Mark Fenton & Lynne McCulloch and she is partnered tonight by Selwyn White, son of Rex White and Cathy Birch.
Francesca and Selwyn are Year 11 students at the Henry Lawson High School.
Francesca’s dress features a lace bodice with a sweetheart neckline with a V back to the waist. The waistband features horizontal folds and a full skirt falls from the waist.
Francesca loves dancing and teaching dance and would like to pursue a career in this area. At this time she feels she would like to study dance at a tertiary level.
Selwyn enjoys playing football and spending time on his motorbike. He would like to pursue career in a mechanical trade.
Madison Knight
Madison is the daughter of Keryl McCann and David Knight and tonight she is partnered by Mitchell Stevens, son of Nathan & Belinda Stevens.
Madison and Mitchell are both in Year 11 at Henry Lawson High School.
Madison’s gown is made from hand-picked silk fabrics. The bodice features an organic pearl beaded net overlay, with a cut away back. It is accentuated by a ruched waistband dropping to a deep V at the back.
Madison loves League Tag, Water-skiing and Paddle Boarding. Her ambitions are to study Agricultural Science at University and to see Parramatta win a premiership….legally!!
Mitchell enjoys playing football and riding his motorbike. In the future Mitchell would like to join the Police Force and has an ambition to work with the Dog Squad.
Kaycie DeBritt-Frost
Kaycie is the daughter of Chontelle DeBritt and tonight she is partnered by Kurtis Meier, son of Juanita Bunn and Paul Meier.
Kaycie’s Nordic White gown is a ‘Miss Anne’ creation. Kaycie's gown features a jewelled halter-neck, ruched bodice with a detailed lace back. The satin skirt is softened with a floating chiffon overlay.
Kaycie is currently studying Automotive at TAFE and plans to pursue a career as a mechanic. To relax Kaycie enjoys listening to music and sleeping.
Kurtis enjoys his sports, playing Guitar and listening to music. In the future Kurtis is considering pursuing a University Degree or a career in the Army.
Breanna Anderson
Breanna is the daughter of Robert and Melissa Anderson and she is partnered tonight by Aaron Mawhinney, eldest son of Trevor & Rita Mawhinney.
Breanna is a Year 11 student at Hennessy Catholic College in Young, and Aaron is a Year 10 student at the Henry Lawson High School.
Breanna has chosen to wear a modern twist on a timeless classic gown. The bodice styled in a delightfully young cotton daisy lace, features an on trend cut away shoulder treatment. The neatly fitted satin waistband accentuates the full whimsical tuelle skirt.
Breanna enjoys playing league tag and when she finishes school she would like to pursue a career in the Australian Defence Force as a Nurse.
Aaron enjoys playing rugby league and water sports. Aaron would hopes to gain entry to a university to study Sports Science.
Tara Anderson
Tara is the daughter of Brett & Tina Anderson and tonight she is partnered by Joshua Edwards, son of Anthony Edwards.
Tara is a Year 11 student at the Henry Lawson High School and Joshua is currently working as a Shearer.
Tara is wearing a classic Grecian style gown she designed herself. The one shoulder bodice features ruched crystal organza. The empire line skirt is made from de-lusted satin and features a crystal diamante belt and organza overlay. Tara's gown was made by Angela Hunter.
Tara enjoys hanging out with friends & family, riding motorbikes, cooking and working. Tara plans to have a gap year before pursuing a career in Agriculture or Primary School Teaching.
Joshua enjoys hunting, fishing and playing football. He hopes to keep shearing and working on the family farm.
Brooke Brown
Brooke is the only daughter of Peter & Carly Brown and she is partnered tonight by Kurtis Troth, son of David & Michelle Troth.
Brooke is a Year 11 student at Henry Lawson High School and Kurtis works at Moxey Farms at Goolagong.
Brooke is wearing a chiffon & lace gown with an open back. The sweetheart bodice is made of chiffon overlayed with lace and ascends to highlight a demur neckline. The combination of delicate lace and sweeping chiffon makes for a distinguishing silhouette.
Brooke enjoys a rural lifestyle, and has a deep interest in animal husbandry and agriculture. She is widening her experience in these areas through her casual employment at Lachlan Fertilizers.
Kurtis enjoys spending time with his friends and working. Kurtis has plans to further his education towards a career in Civil Construction.
Tamara Fengler
Tamara is the daughter of Judy Fengler & Rick Silburn and tonight she is partnered by Joshua McCue, son of Leesa & Jason McCue.
Tamara is in Year 11 at Henry Lawson High School.
Tamara’s gown of white chiffon over satin features a softly pleated, fitted bodice with flowers and beaded lace and shoe string straps. The “A” line skirt features a pleated overlay falling from the waist and forming a “cowl” drape over the hips.
Tamara likes listening to music, watching movies and working with children. She is currently studying Children’s Education and Care at TAFE and would like to pursue a career in this area.
Joshua enjoys computer-gaming, practicing with his bow and arrows and driving cars. Joshua really enjoys his work in a landscaping and gardening business with his father Jason and hopes to continue in the landscaping business in the future.
Kira Gibson
Kira is the daughter of Jillian Reidy and Bradley Benham and tonight she is partnered by Kye Sanderson, son of Anna Holmes and Gordon Sanderson.
Kira is a Year 11 student at the Henry Lawson High School and Kye is in Year 12.
Kira is wearing a crisp white floor length gown of cotton voile with a scooped neckline and cap sleeves worn off the shoulder.
Kira enjoys cooking, music and is learning Japanese.
Kye likes skating, working on cars, and wants to travel around the world.
Casey Hewen
Casey is the daughter of Mark & Lyn Hewen and tonight she is partnered by Hamish Starr, son of Martin & Megan Starr.
Casey is wearing a V-neck gown of crinkle chiffon featuring plaited fabric straps. The bodice features soft gathers falling into an A-symmetrical overskirt. Seed beads, bugle beads and rhinestones adorn the gown.
Casey enjoys playing league tag and would like to study health and fitness when she finishes school.
Hamish enjoys playing all sorts of sports and watching television. Hamish would like to pursue a career in Cricket.
Claira McAway
Claira is the daughter of the Late Steven McAway and Noreen McAway, and tonight she is partnered by Patrick King, son of John & Leslie King.
Claira has chosen a John Joseph design. Her gown is a white lace embossed chule. The fitted beaded bodice joins the skirt in an a-symetrical diagonal from the hip and features beaded shoestring straps with a laced satin closure at the centre back. The A-line skirt has a scalloped lace trim at the hem. Clara's lace has been hand beaded with sequins, seed beads and crystals.
Claira enjoys drawing and listening to music and would like to pursue a career in Nursing.
Patrick likes football, camping and fishing. When he finishes school he would like to travel overseas and pursue further education.
Caitlin Roberts
Caitlyn is the daughter of Janine Clark and Matthew Roberts and is partnered tonight by Nicholas Curtis, son of Trevor & Jennifer Curtis.
Caitlyn is wearing a gown in a satin princess line with chiffon overlay. It features gathered chiffon straps with diamante trim.
Caitlyn is a Year 11 student at Henry Lawson High School. She enjoys cooking and would like to become a Beautician in the future.
Nicholas is employed as a cabinet fitter in Cowra and he enjoys surfing.
Charlotte Simpson
Charlotte is the daughter of Leonie Forfar and Craig Simpson and she is partnered by Jack Cooper, son of Andy Cooper and Sheridan Mackinnon.
Charlotte’s gown is made from jersey crepe and chiffon and features a strapless bodice with sweetheart neckline. The bodice back is open to the waist and has cut away armholes. The skirt is gathered with a chiffon overlay. Charlotte's gown was made by Angela Hunter.
Charlotte is in Year 11 at the Henry Lawson High School and she enjoys art and photography and would like to pursue a career in these areas.
Jack is in Year 12 and his hobbies include computers, cadets.
He is interested in a career in Software Engineering.
Jade Ward
Jade is the daughter of Greg & Heather Ward and she is partnered by Jesse Thompson-Jones, son of Kelli & Michael Thompson-Jones.
Jade & Jesse attend the Henry Lawson High School, Jade in Year 11 and Jesse in Year 9.
Jade is wearing a Mr K gown made from high twist chiffon and featuring a satin waistline. The full length skirt falls softly from the waist.
Jade enjoys singing and listening to music as well as spending time with friends.
Jesse likes reading and playing sport and when he finishes school would like to pursue a career in acting.
