With the iconic red ball famously associated with Test cricket being swapped for a pink ball, there was mixed reaction after the match finished inside three days at the Adelaide Oval.

Just the idea of veering away from tradition and introducing a pink ball sent many into a spin, calling the change ridiculous and unnecessary.

After the Test wrapped up with Australia bagging a tense three-wicker win, support began to flow for the pink ball, which held up better than many expected.

This surprising shift came as a result of seeing how the ball travelled and bounced on the pitch, converting many who were undecided on its effect.

Those who were concerned about its visibility and usefulness for quick bowlers were disappointed, as the ball was good for the bowlers, resulting in slow run rates and more wickets than usual at Adelaide, which is usually a batting paradise.

Many agreed that the day-night format was a success, and many were calling for its future continuation.
