Maisie Taylor was taken to a luncheon on Thursday February 19 at Fettler’s Restaurant to celebrate her 98th birthday.

Prior to the luncheon, Maisie enjoyed a visit the Grenfell Art Gallery with her daughter Julie Armstrong.
Maisie’s daughter Elaine Stewart from Forbes, daughter Julie and husband Richard Armstrong, daughters in law Kathy and Faye Taylor, grandsons Luke and Ben Armstrong, Gus Taylor and his wife Kylie and their children Elsie and Max and friends Merle and Pauline Hughes were in attendance.
Kathy Taylor spoke on behalf of those present and said that Maisie was a remarkable woman, wonderful with the grandchildren, a fantastic mother in law and a lady who always had time for everyone.
Carol Logan presented Maisie with her sweets with birthday candles for her to blow out whilst all present sang “Happy Birthday”.
Maisie, nee Nicholls from Forbes married Harold Taylor in Cowra on September 16 1941 and they had six children.
Maisie now has 23 grandchildren and 36 plus great grandchildren
After living on the farm “Collingwood” at Caragabal they moved to Wood Street in Grenfell in 1978. In 2007 Maisie moved to Armstrong Court.
A full coach load of Dirty Dancing/Patrick Swayze fans headed to Sydney on Saturday February 21with Loader’s Coaches, for the second-last screening of this internationally acclaimed stage production.
2015 is the tenth anniversary of the play and it was a fantastic day. Everyone had the time of their lives, and maybe none more-so than Janeane Debenham!
February 19 1955 Alice Simpson and Bruce Robinson exchanged their wedding vows in the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Grenfell with the officiating minister being the Rev Clifford Usher. Rev Usher had only recently arrived in Grenfell.
Their attendants on the day were Shirley Best, Alice’s sister and the Bruce’s brother the late Steel Robinson.
Alice and Bruce have five children David, Peter, Kathy, Tracey and Shane.
The Robinson’s celebrated this milestone with their family at Fettler’s Restaurant on Saturday evening February 21.
David and his wife Wendy, Kathy and her partner Rob Ricketts, Tracey and Shane were in attendance for this happy occasion as well as Shirley and John Best, Ellen Curry (nee Simpson) from Oberon and Joyce Simpson.
Best wishes were received from Peter who is in Ireland, and who hopes to be home for a visit soon.
Congratulations to Bev and Allen Kelly who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on February 20 trekking Mt Kosciusko to the peak.
Twenty six members of the Weddin Wanderers walking group travelled to Thredbo via Loader’s Coaches and stayed two nights at Pindari Lodge.
Local ski enthusiast Anthony Myers and John Hetherington arrived a few days earlier to prepare the lodge for the Grenfell visitors.
Bev nee Gault and Allen Kelly were married in the Presbyterian Church Grenfell in 1965 by the Rev Eric Ewin.
Bev’s attendants on the day were Pauline McDonald (Junior Bridesmaid), Penny Kelly (Bridesmaid) and Matron of Honour Wilma Causer.
Allen was supported by Bryson Causer as Groomsman and Rick O’Connor as Best Man.
Kathy Parker also celebrated her birthday during this wonderful adventure to the big mountain.
Adelaide Mae Baker was welcomed into the world at 11.51pm on Sunday, February 15.
She weighed 8lb 11.5oz (3950 grams) and measured 53 centimetres.
Adelaide is the daughter Phoebe and Dean Baker of Grenfell, the younger sister of Nellie (3) and Maisie (1), and the granddaughter of Kerry and Geoff Ray of Young, Phillipa and Garry Baker of Grenfell, and Doug and Grace Dunstan of Queensland.
Joan Bolton celebrated her 80th birthday while staying with family in Canberra last week.
The occasion was marked with a relaxing dinner on Thursday at the historic Brassey Hotel, established in 1927. Joan shared the evening with her sons and their families, enjoying the fine à la carte menu and wine in the decor of the restaurant.
Cards and phone calls received throughout the day from friends and family combined to make the day memorable and very special.
