Clean up Australia Day is on Sunday March 1, 2015 and everyone is invited to join in the national clean up and do their bit for their local community.
Since the event started 25 years ago it has become the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Volunteers have donated more than 27.2 million hours towards caring for the environment through Clean Up Australia Day, by removing an estimated 288,650 tonnes of rubbish from 145,754 sites across the country.
The Weddin Shire will be participating in Clean Up Australia Day this Sunday March 1. Volunteers are encouraged to come and join us in Vaughn Park between 8.30am and 9.00 am for allocation of areas to be cleared of rubbish. Collection bags will be supplied.
Volunteers are advised to wear a hat, sunscreen and good walking shoes.
A refreshing drink and biscuit will be available after clean up.
