RETURNING after an eight-year absence, the Mitton family, Grenfell, paid the $5000 top price ram of the annual Parkdale SRS Merino ram sale at Dubbo today, where 74 of 76 rams averaged a healthy $1512, up $238 on last year’s sale average for 77 rams.

Parkdale co-principal Don Mudford said the family was very pleased with the sale result and thanked returning clients for their continued support.
David and Kellie Mitton chose an 18.3-micron ram for its size and wool. It will be joined to a select mob of 50 ewes to produce rams for use within their flock of 2000 Merino ewes.
Jim Caughey, “Lachlan Downs”, Rankin Springs, decided to pay extra dollars for higher woolgrowing rams and took home three for an average of $2133.
Buyer of seven rams averaging $1543 and topping at $2400 was Allan and Jennifer Hotchkiss and son Geoff, “Pinedale”, Baradine.
