Presidents Report 2014
It is with pleasure I present my 2014 report in this my thirteenth year as president; (unlucky or lucky I will leave that to fate). All our members are dedicated to helping Royal Far West; give our country children health treatments they can’t access from their own areas.
Our funds this year were raised, with Two Successful “Street Stalls” with generous donations of cooking, and goods from our members. “Happy Day,” our members once again came to the fore with donations of lovely prizes, food and their time to run this event. “Christmas in July” attended by sixty five people, was held at the Country Club and catered for by Tania, my thanks go to the Club and members who allowed us to use their venue, a big thank you to Pat Hazell for entertaining us so well at this event. “The fortnightly Pub Raffles” at the Royal Hotel, publican Liz also contributes generously toward the prizes thank you Liz this is very much appreciated, a huge thank you must be given to the patrons for their continued and generous support, my thanks to Barb and Kelly for helping with the raffles. A Small raffle is also held at our monthly meeting. In December 2013, and June 2014 we received surprise donations of $500 each from the Grenfell Garden Club and Grenfell Rotary Club. All these things give a good boost to our coffers.
The members Christmas party was held at Marie Cotters festively decorated home, delicious party fare supplied by all the members and a happy exchanging of gifts rounded off the memorable afternoon.
Thank you Marie.
I attended the Annual Conference at Royal Far West, Manly. The latest programs for our country children were discussed. Some new and innovative plans will go ahead next year for the outreach programs.
On behalf of the branch, I had the pleasure of presenting Grenfell’s donation of $9,000 plus a well received report of our fund raising activities.
Conference will be held in December this year as it is the organisation’s 90th birthday, a great achievement. Some members will be attending and we will inform you all of the updates and changes, that will affect the children.
We have been invited to stay for the Saturday open day celebrations and the roof top party for members and executive. My sincere thanks are given, to, Marie Cotter my Vice President, for her continued support with cooking and prizes for our functions. Marie Young, our Secretary, who has had a rocky year health wise but helps all she can with the secretarial duties and her generous donations.Wells, the Treasurer, who has the important job keeping our money and books in order, organizes our street stalls, sells tickets and cooks for all our functions.
Thank you to all our members, I am grateful to you all, Marie C, Marie Y, Jenny, Ollie, Marie K, Myrl, Margaret and Ruth, they give so much of their valuable time, to sell tickets, man stalls, provide delicious cooking and donate goods for our various fund raisers. They are the backbone of our organization.
To Peter Soley, the Grenfell Record and Neil Langford at 2LF for our publicity.
Last but not least to the generous Grenfell community, my grateful thanks for supporting our unique cause.
The positions of the incoming executive will give them a lot of pleasure, and the satisfaction of helping to provide the best of medical treatment for our country kids.
I wish them success, and know they will receive the support and friendship I have had from all the members.
Margaret Cuddihy,
Grenfell Branch President.
