The Reunion was an amazing catch-up with fellow classmates, who travelled from Queensland, Victoria and of course NSW to attend.
A dinner was held at the Bowling Club on Saturday evening, a tour of the old High School on Sunday morning followed by lunch at Pene and Keith Starr’s “Tanamera” Cowra Road.
Sue and Justyn Armstrong returned recently from a trip to London to visit their son Andrew who lives at Belsize Park.
Justyn, together with Luke, who was also visiting London, drove to Germany. While in Germany they drove the Nurburgring Race Track, visited Stuttgart Porsche Museum and enjoyed the thrill of driving on the German Autobahns.
It was then time for a family reunion in Burgundy, France. Sue and Justyn were able to spend two weeks with their daughter Sarah, son-in-law Julian, grandson Max, Andrew, Luke and his wife Elaine.
The trip to France was followed by a wonderful cruise to the Norwegian Fjords and the Arctic Circle. Highlights were the exciting single lane Trollstig road of many hairpin bends, which climbed 1800m from Åndalsnes to Trollstigheimen, and the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Geirangerfjord surrounded by majestic, snow covered, mountain peaks.
The trip home involved a four-day stopover exploring the exciting city of Hong Kong, riding the double-decker bus down from Victoria Peak, taking the cable car ride on Lantau Island and visiting Tai-O, the oldest fishing village of Hong Kong.
Matthew Clarke son of Debbie and Phillip Clarke of Grenfell celebrated his 21st Birthday with a Tennis afternoon at the Grenfell Tennis Centre on Saturday September 27.
About 40 relatives and friends travelling from Goulburn, Canberra and Grenfell helped Matthew celebrate with a BBQ and Matthew’s favourite dessert of caramel tarts.
Many fun games of tennis were played as well as Table Tennis.
A beautiful cake in the shape of a soccer ball was cut and Matthew thanked his mother for the party and everyone for attending. The cake was creatively made by family friend Tracy Taylor. This was followed by a power-point presentation designed by his uncle Graham Eppelstun of his 21 years so far. An enjoyable day was had by all.
Congratulations to Loyola and Michael Best who celebrated their 21st Wedding Anniversary with a quiet dinner at Fettlers Restaurant on Thursday October 2.
Loy (Medderman) came to Grenfell around 25 years ago as a teacher at St Joseph’s after graduating from Signadou (now to Australian Catholic University) in Canberra.
The Bests have three children who are all involved with their parents in the Grenfell Town and District Band.
They are off and racing again.
