Last Wednesday 21 bowlers took to the green in our men’s social comp, it was good to see a nice turn out. Winners of the meat trays were B. Park, R. Brown, J. Fanning, D. Hughes and H. Christoph N. Coleman got the free game. Friday not as many bowlers but still had a great afternoon of bowls. Terry Aston and Col Meyers had a big struggle on their hands playing Ray Walter and Max Barr, half way through Ray and Max were plenty and Terry and Col were not many, Ray and Max played some great bowls and never gave an inch, after the tea break Terry and Col won a few ends which was a blessing. There was some concern though; Ray and Max could not find their bowling arms after returning from the tea break, a quick look around and they were soon discovered in the skip bin, I wonder who could have done that!. Chook winners N.Coleman, K.Reid, B.Butler T. Aston won the free game. The jackpot did not go off you needed plus 4 on the 20th end, it’s up to $140 next week.
There was a semi-final of the club triples played on Saturday, Steve Galvin side played Clive Anderson’s team, Steve’s team got off to a flying start with a five on the first end, Clive’s side had no answer and struggled all game to stay in the match, well done to Steve Galvin, Matt Reid and Andrew Armstrong, Steve told me after the game he was very pleased with his team’s performance they go on to play Paul Kay, John Grogan and Robbie Coleman in the final in a few weeks time
