Gran and Pop Walmsley (Lorette and Phillip) enjoyed having their three grandsons, Charlie, Thomas and Harry all the way from Moree visit them at the farm at “Warrunga” last week.
The grandchildren had a fun filled six days with Gran and Pop feeding the cattle and poddy calf and visiting Great Gran Joan Eppelstun in town.
A highlight of their trip was seeing the Weddin Mountain Muster Parade through Grenfell Last week when they were all dressed up in fabulous costumes.
Charlie (4), Thomas (3) and Harry (almost 2) are the children of Nathan and Sonia Walmsley and had fun having their photo taken with Henry Lawson.
Like it or hate it – remember to put your clocks an hour forward on Saturday evening October 4 as Daylight Savings comes into force on Sunday morning October 5.
I was just getting used to getting up in daylight and now putting the clock forward it will be dark again.
Best wishes to the Grenfell Kart Club who is hosting the State Championships and welcome to all visitors.
Good luck also to the Quandialla community as they celebrate their centenary and welcome back numerous ex residents.
Welcome to all ex THLHS students who are also in Grenfell for a school reunion and to any other visitors to our town. Enjoy your stay.
Graham Checkley and his wife Jessie have been visiting his daughter and son-in-law Marian and Murray Walker over the last week. Graham was the local Westpac Bank Manager between 1984-1987 and still resides at Woy Woy on the Central Coast
Chantel and Ben Bryden from Caragabal teamed up with Michael and Deanne Madgwich, Brendan Sirol, Holly Bowerman and Graham Eppelstun and enjoyed a day at the Grenfell Jockey Club’s annual Henry Lawson Loaded Dog and Cup Day on September 20.
The group enjoyed and evening at dinner and were photographed at the last port of call on the evening.
A thoroughly great day was had by this happy group of racegoers.
Congratulations once again to the Weddin Mountain Muster Committee and the absolutely wonderful group of riders (local and visitors) who bring so much to our great town each year.
During their ride through the streets of Grenfell prior to the parade down the Main Street last Wednesday, they all enjoyed a stop off at the Railway Station Lions Park and covered Barbecue area for morning tea.
The Weddin Mountain Muster Committee contributed $1000 towards the installation of a windbreak around the covered entertainment and BBQ area for which the Grenfell Lions Club were very appreciative.
The “Elves” group all done up in their red and green won the best presented riding group on the day, whilst The Phantom and his horse Hero (alias Jimmy) were the winners of the individual rider.
The girls Tracey, Addy, Rosalie, Cylie, Debbie and Therese from the Red Cross Mobile Blood Bank paid a visit to Henry Lawson when they had finished a very busy day at Vaughn Park last Thursday.
They were all very taken with the wonderful addition to the Main Street and realised it is even harder to get blood out of copper/bronze.
