GRENFELL TOURNAMENT: Last weekend saw the annual Grenfell tournament take place in which 24 teams from various towns participated in.
The winners of the weekend were C. Grimson’s side from Boorowa in a closely contested final with G. Hunter’s side that ran second.
The Sunday saw the remaining 16 sides do battle in which A. Nunn from Blayney was successful in winning. Many thanks go to the Sponsors Aston & Joyce, Reid’s Thrifty Link, Oliver’s Hardware and XXXX Gold.
CLUB TRIPLES: The draw has been completed for the 2014 club triples, first round matches consist of S. Galvin vs B. Galvin and P. Kay vs R. Chambers. B. Johnson and J. Joyce have both got first round byes; these matches must be completed by the 6th of October.
UPCOMING EVENTS: Nominations for the Club Fours, Mixed Fours and Mixed Pairs will be up on the board this week.
Please be prompt in nominating as time is running short for these events.
ZONE 5 INTER-ZONE: S. Galvin spent the weekend in Dubbo playing for Zone 5 in the inter-zone.
Zone 5 narrowly missed out going down by 1 shot on the last end the game.
BOWLER’S JACKPOT: This week’s bowler’s jackpot required +4 on end 6, there was no result and therefore it will jackpot to $404 next week.
Bowlers to win meat trays this week included R. Brown, J. Dumbrell and K. Reid.
Chook winners were R. Coleman, J. Dumbrell and D. Handcock. Free game winners were J. Grogan and K. Aston.
There have been several rumours going around that an all new, unique cooking style may have been invented by one of our very own!!!!
No names can be mentioned but it did produce quite a good laugh.

We played another round of Point Score last Friday night with the same skip as last week.
Tom Hazell led in the winning team again with the help of Maureen Piefke, Nerida Feeney and N. O’Brien defeating the team of Garth O’Brien, Hazel Shaw, Bruce Clifford and Owen Feeney 23 shots to 13.
In next week’s report we will have the results of the Young Open as one of our teams have to defend the trophy they won at the event last year.
The following Sunday, September the 21st, we will be hosting the District Mixed Pairs and we expect around 50 players on that day.
These games are qualifying games for the Country Championships and we hold those in our district in 2015.
On Sunday, October 5th, I am advised an invitation has been sent for the Club’s Open Day and one of our teams has the trophy to defend for that club also.
Next Friday night is for vouchers drawn from the hat so we are hoping for a few more players.
