Guests included family and friends some travelling from Bathurst and West Wyalong.
After Lindsay cut her beautiful cake which had a Kombi van on top, she thanked everyone for coming and for her gifts and then partied the night away.
Congratulations to Tim, son of Stephen and Judy Mitton of Grenfell and Neeka, daughter of John and Julie Barby of West Wyalong on their recent engagement. Both families are delighted with the news and wish them joy and happiness for the future.
Tim and Neeka were home in Grenfell last Saturday evening and celebrated their engagement with a combined party with Tim’s sister Lindsay who turned 18.
A special toast to Tim and Neeka was made before they cut their cake.
Steve and Judy are very happy to welcome Neeka into their family.
The Anglican Fete will be held tomorrow Saturday September 13 from 10am till 2pm.As well as the usual stalls, cakes, plants, produce and bric-a-brac, a barbecue lunch and delicious crepes and awesome morning teas will be on sale.
There will be a damper competition, a Lego competition as well as the Lions jumping castle for the littlies.
The annual Caragabal Sheep Races will be held at the Caragabal Country Golf Club tomorrow September 13.
Gates will open at 11.30 with the first race at 12.30.
The Grenfell Lions Club will be on hand with the Jumping Castle for the littlies to enjoy.
Entry is $10 for adults and $5 for school aged children.
On Tuesday evening four birthdays were celebrated at Fettlers Restaurant.
Rob Penrose celebrated his birthday with his wife Jenny, brothers John and his wife Del, Ross and his wife Betty and his sister Maureen and her husband Garth Gault.
Rob and Jenny recently returned home following a five-month caravanning trip around Australia.
Carolyn Reid celebrated her birthday in the heated courtyard at the Railway Hotel with her extended family and friends and Wayne Lavers and Jaqi Pasco had a combined function in the dining room. A great night was had by all.
What better way to celebrate Father’s day. Ian (Inky) Armstrong and his wife Jenny travelled to see their son Michael who is the captain of the Bathurst St Pats Rugby League team play against the Mudgee Dragons on Father’s Day. In a cliff-hanger match St Pat’s defeated the Dragons 30 – 28.
Karah Armstrong (Captain) daughter of Allan and Carol Logan also led the League tag girls to victory. St Pats League Tag, Reserve Grade and First Grade will play in the Grand Finals to be held at Cowra on Sunday. No doubt a Grenfell contingent will be present on the day.
Cheryl Potter, Jim Shanks and Carina and Peter Deas from Mystery Bay on the South Coast paid a visit to Grenfell last weekend. The visitors enjoyed an evening out to dinner at Fettlers with Cheryl’s cousin Marlene Nealon and Max Baker.
Cheryl’s mother the late Beatrice McGowan nee Hockings and Marlene’s mother the late Kath Wilder are sisters.
Volunteers who deliver Meals on Wheels are invited to a luncheon at the Grenfell Country Club on Wednesday September 17.

The Grenfell Dramatic Society’s “Trio of Comedy” will be commencing tonight at 7.30pm in the Rose Street Theatre. A second show will be held at 2pm tomorrow Saturday 13th followed by a third show at 7.30pm, with the final show being Sunday 14th matinee at 2pm. Tickets are $15 which includes a light refreshments are on sale at C J Andersons.
The Grenfell Jockey Club will be holding their annual “Loaded Dog” and Grenfell Cup Day next Saturday September 20.
There will be six races on the program with some wonderful prizes for the owners, Fashions on the Field, a lucky race book with a wonderful prize being a two night’s accommodation package at the Hawkesbury Race Club Motel and five draws of $50 Caltex Fuel Cards.
