Thanks very much to the organising committee for their dedication in making decorations and coordinating the evening. On the night, lucky chair prizes were awarded vouchers from the Bowling Club and Steph Connella and Christine Neville sat in the right places on the night. Christine Neville also took out the prize for best dressed ($50 voucher from Grenfell Shoes) with her ready-for-the snow outfit.
Raffles and more raffles were another feature of night and the Grenfell Soccer Club is very grateful to everyone who contributed prizes on the evening. The major raffle first prize of a helicopter flight for two was won by Scott Holz with the second prize of a load of wood donated by Tim Wood being won by Mark Harvey. The third prize of a World Cup replica soccer ball was fittingly won by one of soccer’s hard working members – Mitchell Wheatley.
An auction then took place under Rob Anderson’s control for two seats in a helicopter ride to be taken on Grenfell Show weekend. The bidding quickly jumped around the room with the lucky winner being Wayne Gavin.
The final raffles were drawn after The Young Ones had played a set and started to persuade people onto the dance floor. People whose winning ticket was drawn were able to choose from a selection of prizes – $50 Grenfell Quality Meats – Peter Little; $100 Royal Hotel – Phil Simpson; $100 Hardy’s Garage – Tracey Taylor; $50 M & M’s – Paul Taylor; $30 Caltex – Mark Loader; $30 Chris’s Bakery – Mark Aspin; Stevens Sand and Gravel voucher – Margie Johnson; Pizza from Ned’s – Cath Sullivan; $20 Grenfell Post Shop – Gav Johnson: Remington hair straightener – Dylan Troy; $20 Oliver’s Hardware – Emily Witt, Kevin Hansen, Mark Aspin.
Then it was back to The Young Ones, more conversation and the night’s comperes, Ben Walker and Mark Harvey, could retire from their duties.
