Deepa encouraged everyone with the story from John, Chapter 6 where people had come to listen to Jesus, it had become late and there wasn’t food to feed the large crowd.
One young boy had 5 small loaves and 2 fish, Jesus took this small offering, blessed it and there was enough to feed 5000.
Jesus can take the small things we do for OCC and multiply it to help so many.
Jason spoke of the growth of OCC, nearly 10 million shoe boxes were distributed to children in need in 2013, lives are being transformed, not just for the children but for their families and communities - through the sharing of the gospel and in practical support given in the areas of healthcare, education, clean water projects and livelihood training.
Short DVD’s were shown on the exciting discipleship program offered to children who have received a shoe box in Papua New Guinea and of Samaritan’s Purse work in the refugee camp in Northern Iraq, including a shoe box distribution.
If you would like to find out how you can support this project there will be an OCC Information Stand at the Grenfell Agricultural Show on the 29 and 30 August, or contact Grenfell OCC Coordinator Helen Sweeting 6343 7154.
