Grenfell played in a mixed team of Parkes and Grenfell u/7’s v Parkes blue in a very entertaining match. All the boys enjoyed their game. New player, Aiden Lyons, played his first game of footy and he displayed good attacking skills, with strong runs up the middle of play. He tackled any Parkes player that moved, stopping one in his tracks and saved a certain try.
Braydon Smith had a super game. He scored scored 2 tries, kicked a conversion and he tackled well. This little pocket rocket brought down players twice his size with ease.
Mitchell Haddin also had a good game. He tackled like a demon, gave good ball passes to his team and he raced half the lenght of the field to score a runaway try.

Grenfell and forbes magpies U/7s played an exciting match today with plenty of good skills on show and a lot of tries scored. These U/7s games are the most entertaining games of the day, with such young players displaying good sportsmanship and footy skills. Braydon Smith ran strongly with the ball and he scored 3 tries. His tackling was first class. One tackle he was like a tenacious little terrier, grabbing onto a player more then double his size and hung on till he brought him down, just short of the line. Aiden Lyons was captain today and he played a good captain’s game, trying hard to keep the team onside and urging them forward in attacking moves. Aiden improves with every game, he tackled well and ran the ball strongly up the centre of play.
Mitchell Haddin tackled well and ran the ball up strongly when attacking the line of the opposition, giving his captain good support. Mitchell was very happy to show the opposing team a clean pair of heels with another runaway try.
