Our Henry Lawson Festival is over for another year and from all accounts it seems to have been a successful event again this year. For the third year, we were very fortunate to have excellent weather over the weekend of the Festival.
This year saw the installation of a statue of our Henry. The statue was purchased by the committee, after many years of saving and planning. The statue is quickly becoming a tourist asset for the town.
Thank you to all our sponsors and the individual people who donated money towards our Festival. Your support ensures the viability of the Festival.
Personally, I would like to thank all those people involved either by volunteering, organising or participating in the Festival.
To Amanda Brenner, a special thank for the huge effort she gave towards organising this year’s Festival.
This year’s theme “Movie” was impressively popular with local community. The efforts that went into the decoration of floats this year made the procession one of the best. Thank you to all who participated in the procession.
Finally, I invite any people that have suggestions about the Festival to either contact myself or any committee member so that we can strive to improve our Festival. Our next Festival Committee meeting will be held 7.30pm Tuesday 15th July 2014 at the Grenfell Hub, all welcome.
