The Weddin Development Committee (Formerly the Grenfell District Development Organisation) held their monthly meeting at the Bowling Club recently with some positive outcomes.
President Peter Moffitt chaired the meeting and after the formalities, members of the committee tabled some ideas to benefit Grenfell Businesses.
Tim Wood circulated a survey for all businesses to complete to contribute their ideas. Maria Neill suggested local businesses contribute to purchase some signage down at the Railway Station (if Council approves) as this is a very popular site for many tourists that visit there on a daily basis.
However when you look up Main Street from down at the bottom end you cannot see past the roundabout therefore some signage notifying visitors of the many great businesses we have in Main Street and surrounding streets may entice them to wonder up and have a look for themselves.
This idea was very well received and a date was made to go for a walk up Main Street ourselves and see what tourists are actually experiencing when stopping in Grenfell.
We will meet at the Railway Station on Saturday 2nd June at 12 noon and walk up Main Street to get a feel of what tourists experience here in town.
We would like as many Businesses to join us as possible as the more ideas that we can circulate the more benefits to the businesses of Grenfell.
The Weddin Development committee are dedicated to boosting sales and services in Grenfell, whether you are a business house owner or are working from home this committee can benefit you.
The committee is made up of local business owners that get together to brainstorm their ideas for improving Main Street and Business opportunities.
The next meeting will be held at the Bowling Club, with the date to be announced, and it would be fantastic to see as many businesses represented as possible, also everyone is welcome to join in on the walk up Main Street on June 2nd.
So come along and have your say as the more input - the more benefits.
