The Grenfell Goannas have named new coaches for the 2012 season. Daniel Lennane is the new Captain Coach of the first grade side. Daniel Barclay is the new coach of the Youth league side and Anna Hancock is the new Captain Coach of the Ladies league tag side.
Daniel Lennane has been a leading light in the Goannas outfit over many seasons and will be a great leader on and off the field Daniel has always led from the front and has gained plenty of respect from his peers and the other players he has come up against over the years.
Daniel should take all his skills and knowledge of the game into his new role as coach. Daniel should become a good leader and mentor to everyone in our club. Daniel Barclay played his first season with the Goannas last year and showed plenty of potential Daniel has taken on the job as the Physical Education Teacher at the Henry Lawson High School.
Daniel will bring plenty of experience to our club as a coach and a mentor and will be a great benefit to our club. Anna Hancock will also be a great asset to our club; Anna has been one of the better players in the Ladies league tag competition and is well liked and highly regarded by her team mates. Anna is also highly regarded by players from all the other teams.
Anna has a good attitude towards hard work and is always working on bettering herself as a player. Anna works hard on her fitness and is a good leader on the field so this should hold her in good stead and take her a long way towards becoming a good coach.
We would like to wish them all the best for the year ahead. Training will start this week followed by a sign on day and BBQ to be held at the Albion this Sunday starting at 11.30 am.
This is for all players of all teams it will be a good get together to meet the Coaches and players. Next week training for all teams is a 6.30 pm at Lawson Park.
