Friendly, family, neighbourly night of darts

25 Nov, 2009 10:56 AM
On Wednesday November 18, the Railway Hotel dart team of Tony ‘Minichello’ Fenech, Ian ‘Inky’ Armstrong, Greg Saye (sub for Steve O’Byrne), Murray ‘Cod’ Logan, Barry ‘McKenzie’ Bradtke, Terry ‘Bond’ Carroll (sub for Daniel Fanning), Terry ‘White’ Knight and, Dave ‘Killer’ Thiel were challenged by the Show No Mercy team (or should we say their partners or neighbours) in a very exciting and close challenge.

The Show No Mercy team was Laurel Scheimer, Sharyn Bradtke, Lain Thiel, Sharon Saye, Sylvia Butcher, Deidre Carroll, Pam Hutson and Mary Fanning.

The Shown No Mercy team Laurel (X1) partnered by Sharyn Bradtke won the first game of 301 but Greg Saye (X7) and ‘The Cod’ showed no mercy at all when they defeated Lain and Sharon Saye.

Sylvia Butcher (X1) and Deidre won their game over ‘McKenzie’ and ‘Bond’ and Pam and Mary (X5) followed suit with a win over ‘White Knight’ and ‘Killer’ to make the score 3-1 to the girls.

‘Inky’ and ‘Mini’ (X1) reversed their first round loss in 501 in a very close encounter with both teams vying for the elusive double to defeat Sharyn B and Laurel.

‘The Cod’ and Sub Greg with his second double for the night (X2) in a marathon match defeated Sharon S and Lain.

‘Bond’ and ‘McKenzie’ (X8) did not let the girls win this time when they won their game of 501 against Deidre and Sylvia.

‘Killer’ and ‘White Knight’ (X3)also did not let the Show No Mercy girls Mary and Pam defeat them again and put the Railway in front 5 -3 after 501.

The Show No Mercy girls of Laurel (X3), Sharon B, Lain, and Sharon S in again another marathon won the first game of 701 over ‘Minni’, ‘Inky’ Greg and ‘the Cod’ to make the score Railway 5 – Shown No Mercy 4

The final game for the night ‘McKenzie’, ‘Bond’, The ‘White’ Knight (X4) and ‘Killer’ had their work cut out but scraped home to win this game over Sylvia, Deidre, Pam and Mary and retain the cup 6 games to 4.

All the girls played well for Show No Mercy with Sylvia Butcher topping the score on 93 and jagged a double, Laurel Schiemer scored 90 and 91 and jagged two doubles and Sharon S had a top of 83.

For the Railway ‘McKenzie’ topped the score with 125 and jagged a double, ‘White Night’ scored a tonne and the winning double, Murray had a top of 98, Greg scored 95 and two doubles and ‘Mini’ scored 94 and a double

A great family night.

Tonight, November 25 the Royal Hotel will challenge the Railway, and then darts will be in recess till the first week of February when the Albion Hotel will challenge the holder.
